About the Diablo Area in Contra Costa County, California

Diablo is a small unincorporated community located 35 miles east of San Francisco nestled at the base of Mount Diablo and home to 390 houses, the Diablo Country Club, and a United States Post Office.

The Diablo Community Services District (DCSD) is a California Independent Special District that provides security services, road maintenance and upkeep of bridges and culverts to the residents of Diablo. The DCSD also has a horse/walking trail (Kay’s Trail) between Alameda Diablo and Mt Diablo Scenic Blvd.

This course is one of the most sought-after courses you may play because of its bunkered fairways that are surrounded by imposing Oak trees whose ages are measured in hundreds of years.

Along with breathtaking views of Mt. Diablo and the Las Trampas Range, Diablo Country Club is surrounded by beautiful landscape. The Macdonald Smith Championship tee, covering 6,766 yards, has a rating of 73.8 and a slope of 139 on the par-71 course. Professional Exhibitions, the Northern California Open Championship, USGA Amateur Championship qualifiers, and US Senior Open qualifiers have all taken place in Diablo.

Randy Negi, partner of local favorites Bridges and the Vine, collaborated with the wonderful Maita family to create a perfect marriage of fantastic craft beer and delectable cuisine.

Danville Brewing is the perfect place for craft beer lovers. With an awesome selection of local favorites on tap, like Danville IPA and HOP Magee IPAs- it’s no wonder this restaurant has quickly become one of our favorite spots in town! The park was named after the ranch that produced Osage orange trees, and there are still three of them remaining.

The Blackhawk Museum, which opened in August 1988, houses automobile classics and a variety of exhibits illustrating art, technology, and history. The Automotive Gallery, including more than 55 vintage, classic, rare, and sports cars, has been housed there since its inception. The Sycamore Valley Open Space Regional Preserve is a haven for nature lovers in the south bay area. With its rolling hills and valleys, there are plenty of chances to explore all that this 600-foot high elevation has to offer.

There are eight picnic tables and grill pits in the picnic area close to the baseball diamonds (entry on Sherburne Hills Drive). A new group picnic space that can house up to 65 people has also been created close to the bocce ball courts.

The children have been playing a lot more at the park since they added some new equipment. The bocce ball courts are now shaded, and there is also an awesome water feature for all ages to enjoy!
