Hap Magee has a colorful history. At the park’s entrance, a barn façade remembers the old use of the property as a cattle ranch for longhorn steers. The site was previously a summer camp for San Francisco orphans named Camp Swain, which is where the name comes from. Find a drinking fountain with a plaque and brick rendering of children playing to commemorate Camp Swain.

Hap Magee’s water feature is made out of metal tubes that form a tunnel with water spraying inside as children run through it, and water spraying up from the ground. Water from a motion sensor is activated on a random schedule. This 17-acre park also has walking paths, child-specific play areas, picnic sites, and a dog park.
